After such a great ETAI conference, we'd like to share with you
some of the reactions and comments from the participants. We have
left these comments anonymous, but wish to thank all those who
sent them.
**I thank all those who made it happen.
And there are teachers who say they can't see what ETAI gives us
!!!
** Kol Hakavod to you and to thye ETAI committee for another superb
conference! Well Done! I know how hard it is to plan and arrange
everything. There is no pleasing everybody (and no pleasing some
people at all!)! I thought it was all fabulous! I did not even mind
walking from one end of the hotel to another:- good excercise!
** I can't stop thinking about the atmosphere, the quality, the
range, the familiar faces and the sense of belonging. Thank you
for working so hard, for being supportive and for offering us such
an interesting conference. My 'cup' is brimmng with ideas and I
just can't sleep. Thank you, one and all.
** Thank you for providing the community of teachers of English
such a wonderful learning and meeting opportunity.
This was a superb conference, and it could never have taken place
without your tireless effort and sharp minds.
Participants were astounded at the quality and quantity of the presentations
and we will take back into the work place some really worth-while
new ideas and refreshing attitudes.
** Thanks so much for your email. I am still on a high after the
conference. I had such a great time both attending and giving sessions.
There was such a great buzz around the Ramada for the 3 days!
Well done to you and the board members for organising such a successful
event.
**The conference was superb from start to finish. Personally it
was the best I've been to ( and I've been to many ...)The large
variety of subjects covered by excellent speakers and the real hands-on
practical tips, gave us all much food for thought and ideas to put
into practice.
**Having just returned home exhausted yet elated (alliteration,Leo)
from a brilliant conference I would like to extend my heartiest
thanks to all the committee and the conveners for a job well done.
It was a pleasure to attend and hear such wonderful sessions, and
everything
was organized perfectly. And of course it was great to catch up
with old friends and exchange ideas.
**To the organizing Committee of the International Conference and
all the hard workers who made such a wonderful Conference possible
- THANK YOU. It was an amazing social get-together, and from beginning
to end (I attended all 3 days) was a special experience of FUN,
learning, and
sharing.
**I have followed the ushers year by year, seen how ushers function
at the regional in-service programs and must admit that this time
they functioned immaculately!!!!! In their red T-shirts, always
with a smile, true professionals in all that they undertook (the
technical side as well as perfect hosts/guides)with Lior at the
head - such a pleasure!
**I would like to thank the organizers for an extremely well-organized
and stimulating conference. I know how much work was put in in order
to hold such a conference. It was wonderful meeting old friends
and also very exciting to meet all the guests from abroad.
**I'd like to add my voice of thanks and appreciation to those
who organized and pulled off an amazingly successful conference.
I was able to attend one day only, and kicked myself for not planning
to be there for all three days. In just the one day, I managed to
hear several outstanding lectures, attend one good workshop, and
most importantly, renew friendships and see colleagues whom I haven't
seen in years.
One thing made me somewhat sad. I've been in Israel in the world
of ELT for over 30 years, and during that time, ETAI has served
as my community of practice, a source of inspiration, and an essential
part of my professional development - an important part of my PLN,
so to speak (personal learning network). I had the impression at
the conference that, in general, the next
generation of teachers was not well represented. I'm hoping that
in years to come, new teachers will discover the wonderful support
that ETAI provides.
**To all those involved in the organization of the ETAI Conference,
thanks for a most successful event, just as good as many an international
conference elsewhere. The venue, the ambiance, the chance to meet
old friends and visitors from abroad, the choice of presentations,
everything was just as it should be. I really enjoyed it and I echo
the praises of those who have commented. It shows the strength of
ETAI. Congratulations!
**Wonderful conference, as everyone has said! The only problem
(besides the parking) was deciding which of the fantastic sessions
to go to.
**Thank you all for an excellent conference. I enjoyed the three
days and felt that there was more than one session that was worthwhile
each day (Remember--if you have one good session the whole conference
it is worthwhile, but at least one each day--that's a bonanza!!!!).Special
thanks to Penny Ur for a wonderful professional two years of guiding
us. Thanks to Valerie for organizing an excellent conference. She
had a lot of help and I would like her to thank them all in our
names. The young men who acted as ushers, guides, etc. were delightful.
Marna worked so hard these past few months and truly deserves the
honor of officially being "one of us". And of course congratulations
and good luck to Mitzi on the enormous job (on top of
all her other "humungous" jobs) for agreeing to be our
chairperson for the next two years.
**I can only continue to say what a wonderful conference we had
inJerusalem. AND this is due to the extremely hard work of the convening
committee, Valarie, Penny, Nava and Debbie and of course Marna !!
Then there are the many , many volunteers who manned tables and
ran errands
and of course the wonderful boys in RED , pupils from the Himelfarb
High School .
So thank you all.. and I just want to remind all of you who were
there to go into the ETAI site and send us your ONLINE feedback..
You can do so for either one day, two or all three. FEEDBACK is
important and although we heard many positive things we need to
hear more specific feedback about sessions etc.
**What a wonderful conference! The level of the presentations and
the atmosphere were delightful. I take off my hat to the ETAI committee
for putting together a top line international conference under very
trying conditions. Let us not forget that they are volunteers, dedicating
themselves selflessly to the task. Most of my dealings were with
Valerie and Susan who I would
like to mention in particular. Marna, thanks for being so patient
and hard-working. As for Lior, head of the red T-shirted boys, it
was a pleasure to work with him. Always efficient, well-organized,
pleasant and smiling, I think he has a great future ahead of him.
But I must say a special thank you to our out-going chairperson,
Penny Ur. We are all aware of her talents as a teacher, teacher-trainer,
presenter, writer, diplomat and mensch....Here's wishing good luck
to Mitzi in her new role as chair.
